This week we are talking about the signs of burnout and whether you as an employer/manager can recognise them in your employees?

Have you ever stood in the office and wondered, what is wrong with me?

Looking around at your colleagues and thinking, everyone else seems to be ok, it must be me…

For someone who is inherently optimistic, takes pride in her work, with a ‘today is a new day’ attitude, I found it increasingly difficult when I wasn’t able to meet deadlines and receive the internal satisfaction of a job well done!

I had no awareness of Burnout at this time and I am sure that none of the other Managers in the business did either.

Are you able to recognise any of the common signs of Burnout in yourself or any of your people?

– Feeling tired or drained most of the time
– Feeling helpless, trapped and/or defeated
– Feeling detached/alone in the world
– Having a cynical/negative outlook
– Self-doubt
– Procrastinating and taking longer to get things done
– Feeling overwhelmed
